About the Company

EPRT is a rapidly growing single tenant net lease publicly traded REIT based in Princeton, NJ. The Company was formed in April 2016 and currently manages over $3.0 billion in single tenant net lease investments. EPRT is staffed with a well-capitalized, seasoned investment team that is seeking to grow.

Position Summary

Responsible for:

  • Development of overall Sustainability strategy, including across EPRT’s net lease property portfolio
  • Lead Sustainability initiatives including program governance, carbon reduction analytics, and annual reporting and disclosure.
  • Work with operational and finance/reporting leaders on implementation of key programs.
  • Establish sustainability goals and timeline for achievement.
  • Develop processes to monitor and track ongoing progress against the company’s goals.
  • Collaborate with asset management team to obtain Sustainability data and ensure operational initiatives are executed in-line with the company’s goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to develop and publish annual Sustainability reporting (e.g., GRI, TCFD and SASB disclosure), and develop/update/edit Sustainability content in the company’s core public reporting documents (e.g. Annual Report, Form 10-K and, Proxy).
  • Drive ongoing improvement in Sustainability disclosures, rankings and ratings, and response to Sustainability inquiries.
  • Lead effort to support tenants on Sustainability engagements.
  • Completing and/or updating responses to applicable ESG questionnaires issued by external organizations such as ISS.
  • Create and publish annual ESG report
  • Engage with external stakeholder groups, representing EPRT’s Sustainability program in public forums and industry events.

Essential Job Functions

  • Interact with senior management and, as applicable, committees of the board of directors on Sustainability strategy and initiatives
  • Interface with all functional teams in the company including accounting, financial reporting, asset management, and the investment team to implement Sustainability initiatives and programs
  • Provide monthly comprehensive report to management on status of all Sustainability initiatives and tasks
  • With CFO, develop and utilize third-party relationships (including that facilitate or support Sustainability initiatives


  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • BA or BS in Engineering, Sustainability or a complementary field is preferred
  • Broad knowledge of ESG in a business context including ESG reporting, life cycle assessment, Science Based Targets, measures to deploy for sustainable buildings, and sustainable financing.
  • Substantial experience with ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, CDP, DJSI, SASB, GHG Protocol, including ESG rating and rankings experience
  • Strong network within sustainability, environmental and other related communities helpful
  • Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely and communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, independent and results oriented with the ability to motivate and engage direct and indirect team members and stakeholders
  • Leadership role in managing complex projects
  • Track record of relevant achievements in ESG areas
