REAL ESTATE CLOSING ASSISTANT

Essential Properties Realty Trust, Inc. (Ticker Symbol: EPRT) is looking to fill a Closing Assistant position in their Princeton, New Jersey office.

About the Company

Essential Properties is a net-lease real estate platform that will invest primarily in single-tenant, operationally essential real estate assets operating across a wide variety of industries within the service, retail and industrial sectors throughout the United States. The position will work closely with management to source and underwrite new business opportunities and monitor existing investments.

Summary

The Real Estate Closing Assistant will work closely with the Closing Associate, Deal Manager, Underwriters and Outside Counsel in the purchase and sale of properties. Duties will include providing due diligence, closing, and post-closing support for the transactions group; aggregating and storing legal and closing documents; and performing ad hoc or other support functions that
may arise.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Supports Closing Associates and Outside Counsel in connection with in Acquisition & Dispositions
  • Manages 3 rd party vendors and review / summarize diligence reports such as appraisals, ALTA surveys, property condition assessments, environmental reports, and supporting matrices and communicate findings to deal team including members of senior management
  • Reviews leases / abstracts and communicate findings to internal team
  • Gather necessary documents to upload to third party servicing company
  • Coordinates the preparation and completion of various closing documents, including tenant estoppels and SNDAs, tenant notices and settlement statement with the title company
  • Prepares and delivers due diligence/transition/closing checklists and ensure each task is completed on time
  • Acts as a liaison to schedule site visits and ensure third parties have appropriate access and documentation needed for diligence purposes
  • Manages Closing calendar and coordinates funding requirements
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining required physical storage of original company documents and records, including confidential communications
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining electronic database for corporate documents and records, including confidential communications
  • Assists with acquiring necessary insurance and procurement of evidence of insurance with third parties; maintains and assures currency of related documents
  • Assures confidentiality of privileged communications, work product and records; manages company confidentiality agreements and litigation hold requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Notarizes, aggregate signatures and send out various closing, financing and or legal packages

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and resolve conflicting work requirements
  • Flexibility and ability to manage immediate business needs
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization and with external customers
  • Works with discretion and tact in an environment with a high level of proprietary and confidential information
  • Self-motivated

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in and a minimum of 3 years experience in support of senior executive(s) in medium sized businesses
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • Notary preferred
