Closing Associate

Position Summary

Essential Properties Realty Trust (NYSE: EPRT) is a publicly traded net-lease Real Estate Investment Trust located in Princeton, NJ that primarily invests in single-tenant, operationally essential real estate assets across a wide variety of industries within the service, retail and industrial sectors throughout the United States.

The Real Estate Closing Associate will coordinate all aspects of the closing process, working closely with the Investment and Credit Teams, existing Closers, Internal and External Counsel, and Title Companies in the acquisition of properties. The Closing Associate will report directly to the Vice President, Closing and Development. Duties will include ordering and reviewing due diligence, closing tasks, and post-closing support for the transactions group; aggregating and storing legal and closing documents; and performing ad hoc or other support functions that may arise.

Responsibilities

• Support Investment and Closing Teams in connection with acquisitions of tenanted properties
• Drive the acquisition process from letter of intent to close, managing timelines and company requirements
• Ability to manage multiple acquisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Coordinate all aspects of the due diligence process from engagement of third-party vendors through finalizing deliverables
• Assist with the preparation and completion of closing documents
• Review transaction-related legal documents for accuracy
• Analyze and correspond regarding Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, environmental reports, and related documentation, escalating concerns as appropriate
• Notarize and compile signature packets and delivery of closing, financing and/or legal packages
• Review and work with parties to finalize settlement statements and coordinate funding
• Perform comprehensive insurance reviews and coordinate any certificate/policy change requirements
• Maintain accurate electronic transaction files and closing documentation
• Assist with post-closing activities, as needed

Education, Work Experience, and Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1–2 years of experience in real estate or a similar field; commercial real estate preferred
• Title/escrow experience in commercial real estate preferred
• References required
• New Jersey Notary License preferred
• All applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• In-person attendance in the Princeton, New Jersey office required four days per week

• Compensation, inclusive of base salary, potential bonus and equity: $90,000–$120,000
