Associate, Financial Planning & Data Analytics

The Financial Planning & Data Analytics Associate reports to the Head of Corporate Finance & Strategy. In this role, the Associate works with the executive management team on the development of capital plans and related analyses, and on the preparation of board and investor materials. The Associate is responsible for maintaining and updating the corporate model, working closely with senior stakeholders to review scenarios based on various capital allocation and asset management decisions.

The Associate will also be called upon to contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Company’s data analytics platform, utilizing tools to monitor portfolio performance and other key operating trends in the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist management with the annual operating budget and monthly projections
  • Communicate regularly with other departments to ensure accurate forecast updates, continually improving forecasting methodology over time
  • Prepare reporting packages, presentations, and other materials as needed for executive management, Board of Directors, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of the Company’s long-term strategic plan by conducting variance analyses, financial scenario modeling, and other analyses
  • Play a meaningful role in the Company’s capital raising activities by conducting detailed financial and market analyses
  • Develop and track key performance metrics that align with the Company’s strategic objectives
  • Assist with the construction and implementation of business intelligence tools as part of the ongoing evolution of the Company’s data analytics platform
  • Track wall street research analyst consensus estimates, communicating changes to the executive management team and reviewing analyst models for errors
  • Assist with quarterly earnings call preparation, including the drafting of a conference call script, earnings Q&A talking points, wall street research analyst commentary matrix, and due diligence call updates
  • Analyze and synthesize key takeaways from quarterly earnings calls of industry competitors and tenants

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of FP&A, banking, private equity, public securities investment management, or equity research experience
  • Financial statement analysis and forecasting is required; CFA designation is a plus
  • Corporate real estate industry experience and public company reporting experience is a plus
  • Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with presentation abilities, including ability to communicate financially complex ideas succinctly to large groups
  • Ability to self-motivate and multitask with an exceptional attention to detail
  • Exposure to Yardi, Workiva, CapitalIQ, Microsoft PowerBI, and Tableau is a plus
