Data Engineer / Business Intelligence Analyst

Essential Properties Realty Trust (NYSE: EPRT) is a publicly traded, net-lease Real Estate Investment Trust located in Princeton, NJ that primarily invests in single-tenant, operationally essential real estate assets across a wide variety of industries within the service, retail, and industrial sectors throughout the United States. As of June 30, 2023, we have invested $4B and operate a portfolio of over 1,800 properties across the nation.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer / Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining our SQL database, integrating data from various third-party sources, and creating insightful data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Sisense, etc. This role is vital in supporting data-driven decision-making processes within our dynamic and scaling organization, and will involve significant interaction with teams across multiple departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain our SQL databases to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
  • Integrate data from various third-party services and APIs into our central database.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, cleansing unstructured data, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assist with data-related technical issues and support evolving data infrastructure needs.
  • Generate business insights utilizing data visualizations and reports using Power BI and similar tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, BI Developer, or similar role.
  • Advanced SQL database management and maintenance skills.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as Python, C++, etc.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with financial statements and/or real estate is a plus.
